A Teething Pacifier to Cool Baby’s Sore Mouth
2009Somewhere around the time your baby reaches that point where they are a half of a year old they will begin to teeth. This means that any time after they are six months old they will start to have teeth coming in. This is often an uncomfortable experience for baby as the gums are sensitive and their mouths hurt. Sometimes they are so irritable that they just sit and cry because of their mouth pain. Other times they are irritable and grumpy, not wanting to eat or sleep as they sit in your arms and drool. Your poor baby needs some pain relief. What are you to do?
One solution is to give baby a teething pacifier. These are made just a little different from a regular pacifier and are designed to help to make baby’s mouth feel more comfortable and in doing this make baby happier and more relaxed. The teething pacifier is designed so that it can go into the freezer to be cooled down and then the coolness will ease the discomfort that baby is experiencing.
The fluid inside the teething pacifier is designed to freeze without damaging the pacifier nodule. It is also made to allow the nipple to expand as it unfreezes. As it unfreezes it returns to its normal shape and allows the baby to suck on a regular pacifier and feel its relaxing motion now that the pain in baby’s mouth has been eased. This often allows baby to finally drift off to sleep after a period of irritability and restlessness.
There is usually a small container that accompanies the teething pacifier to allow it to be cooled without sitting right in the freezer. The pacifier can also be frozen by putting it with ice packs so that if you are traveling and baby requires their teething pacifier you can pull one out of the cooler for immediate use. This is a very useful tool to keeping baby happy when they are going through the stage where teeth are pooping up and their little mouths are sore.
